Specific Funding Needs

These are some critical funding areas:

  • $9,000 - $20,000: Create a lending library for a country, with both hard and digital copies.
  • $8,500 (approximately): Sponsor the development of a complete LATN course (such as Leadership, Counseling, Theology, etc). Course costs vary between $3,500 and $10,000.
  • $5,500: Six scholarships for Latin American staff to attend Training events in Costa Rica in 2009.
  • $4,000: Purchase a server for networking all LATN computers, and also a phone system.
  • $4,000: Purchase a one-year subscription for library research (such as EBSCO).
  • $3,500 - $10,000: Upgrade equipment in the LATN office.
  • $2,500: Sponsor the launching of a regional center.
  • $2,000 (approximately): Hire a specialist to develop the content of a course.
  • $1,800: Approximate monthly office expenses (utilities, Internet, cleaning, minor maintenance, office supplies).
  • $1,500 - $10,000: Hire a translator to translate books and articles for courses.
  • $1,500 - $3,000: Provide funding for face to face courses in specific countries.
  • Sponsor a national worker on a monthly basis.
    • $1500: Country Coordinator (LATN currently has nine, but will gear up to eighteen by 2011).
    • $1,000: Coordinator of Production
    • $600: Instructional designer
    • $500: Part-time programmer
    • $500: Receptionist
    • $400: Webmaster
    • $400: Administrative assistant
