The Latin America Training Network is an educational ministry sponsored by ReachGlobal, the international mission of the Evangelical Free Church of America. LATN has adopted the doctrinal statement of the EFCA and continues to have the majority of its staff from the EFCA.

In October 1998, the EFCA ReachGlobal Board approved LATN as a regional educational ministry of the Evangelical Free Church. Although priority was to be given to training leaders within Evangelical Free Church movements, LATN’s program was to be made available to all qualified individuals, institutions and denominations throughout the Spanish speaking world. God has called ReachGlobal to develop, empower, and release healthy leaders. LATN is a strategic tool for accomplishing this.

In August 2007, LATN became a non-profit educational institution in Costa Rica and has taken the name of ProMETA in Spanish. (ProMETA translates Programas de Maestría en Estudios Teológicos Accesibles, meaning, "Master’s Programs in Accessible Theological Studies" see www.pro-meta.org). ProMETA’s board is composed of members of conservative evangelical agencies and churches.
